Permanent Residency Law Malaysia

PERMANENT RESIDENTS

Any person wishing to reside permanently in Malaysia is required to obtain an Entry Permit. Only certain categories of persons are eligible to obtain an Entry Permit. The issue of an Entry Permit is not a right but merely an eligibility. The categories of persons eligible to apply for an Entry Permit as set out in the Immigration (Prohibition of Entry) Order 1963 are:

CATEGORIES

Persons in possession of specialist or professional qualification
Persons in possession of a certificate from the Minister of Home Affairs certifying that their admission would be in the economic interest of Malaysia
Wives and children under six (6) years of age of persons falling within Category A or B
Wives of citizens who have not been living separately from the husbands for a continuous period of five (5) years
Children of CITIZEN under six (6) years of age
Special compassionate grounds

REQUIREMENTS

Form Imm. 4 (1 copy)
Photostat Passport/Travel Document
Photograph of applicant measuring 3.5 cm x 5.0 cm
Photograph of local sponsor measuring 3.5 cm x 5.0 cm
