An Act further to amend the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 and the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation Act, 1961.BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
CHAPTER I
PRELIMINARY

Short title and commencement.
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Banking Regulation (Amendment) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 2004.(2) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, the provisions of this Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 24th day of September, 2004.
