| Introduction of Visa |
|
All Indian nationals, except holders of Diplomatic Passports, who wish to travel to Germany, require a valid visa. Applications for visa should be directed to the Embassy of Germany in New Delhi, or to the Consulate General of Chennai, Calcutta or Mumbai, according to the applicant's place of residence in India.
Germany is a signatory to the Schengen Agreement, 1985, therefore if you want to travel to more than one European country you can apply for a schengen visa which is valid for Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain.
A schengen visa is valid only for 90 days and if you intend to stay for longer you have to obtain the national visa of the country you are visiting. |
