Business Visa
Business visas are issued to those who need to travel to Italy for short period of time for economic-commercial purpose, contacts or deals, verification of goods or products purchased or sold in the context of a commercial contract. The applicant has to be a professional operating from this sector, traveling for a genuine business purpose testified by a corresponding Italian company. The documents to be submitted are as follows:
  1. Visa application form duly filled and signed by the applicant, which can be obtained free of charge from the Embassy;
  2. One passport-size photograph pasted on the form;
  3. Confirmed return air ticket;
  4. Evidence of foreign currency available as per corresponding rate, in case the applicant holds international credit card, photo copy of credit card and latest statement of account should be attached;
  5. Copy of the letter, fax or e-mail (in the Italian language) from the inviting Italian firm, whose original must be sent directly to this Embassy, listing the names of the person traveling and attach to the invitation its membership of Italian chamber of Commerce;
  6. A letter of the Indian company stating the profile of the person for whom the Visa Application is being submitted, giving full details regarding its activities and its business relations with the Italian companies;
  7. For a business visit sponsored by a Government body, a letter addressed to the embassy should be sent by the sponsor;
  8. Other document supporting the Visa Application; copy of the company's certificate of incorporation, its exporter/import license, its balance sheet, its latest bank statement and export/import invoices to Italy (if any), as well as of his own personal saving bank A/c , his PAN card and income tax return for the previous year;
  9. Hotel reservation or proof of an Italian company's hospitality;
  10. For participation in fairs in Italy, evidence of the full payment of the stall (advance and balance of the remaining fee) must be submitted.
  11. Visa fees of Rs.1050 (for a short stay, up to 30 days) or Rs.1260 (for a short stay, up to 90 days) and a single entry. In case of multiple entries valid for six months, visas fee is Rs.1470
  12. 90 days visas for duration of 1 year up to 5 years can also be issued, provided that the duration of stay on each entry does not exceed 90 days per semester. In these cases, visas fee will be Rs.2100 for the one year, plus Rs.1260 for each additional year.
According to the laws in force, the Embassy of Italy reserves the right to ask for further documents and to refuse a visa application.

Applicants who have not previously traveled to the Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand will be requested to appear for a personal interview.

The passport may be collected only by the holder of the receipt slip. Should the visa be refused, the visa fee will be returned to the applicant.
