CITIZENSHIP BY ADOPTION
If a Swedish citizen adopts a child under twelve years of age will become a Swedish citizen on adoption if-
- Adopted in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland or Norway,
- Adopted by virtue of a foreign adoption decision which has been approved or is otherwise valid in Sweden under the Act on International Legal Procedures relating to Adoption or which is valid under the Act concerning Sweden's Accession to the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption.
