§601. Scope of chapter

Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to prohibit the giving or receiving of campaign contributions made for the purpose of defraying the costs of a political campaign. No person shall be convicted of an offense solely on the evidence that a campaign contribution was made, and that an appointment or nomination was subsequently made by the person to whose campaign or political party the contribution was made. §951. Inapplicability of chapter

Any person licensed by the Chief of the State Police as provided in Title 17, chapter 13-A or chapter 14, or authorized to operate or conduct a raffle pursuant to Title 17, section 331, subsection 6, shall be exempt from the application of the provisions of this chapter insofar as that person's conduct is within the scope of the license.
